- Click the Start button to display the Windows 9x Start menu.
- Choose Settings to display the Settings menu.
- Choose Control Panel - you know what that does.
- Double-click Network to display the Network Devices dialog box.
- Click the configuration tab, which shows the various networkable devices on the system.
- Find the NIC on the list, highlight it, and click Properties.
This step displays the Properties dialog box for that particular device. If the device is not a Plug-and-Play device, the system resources assigned should match those that you physically configured on the card. If it is Plug-and-Play, you can observe the system resources that were assigned to it by Windows 9x.
- If you want to change the settings (that is, if you truely know what you are doing -- otherwise, leave them alone), you can do so and then click OK to save them.
NOTE: It would be a great servicing habit, before you change any settings, to write down the original settings very carefully.
