E-Mail Addresses




     An e-mail address defines the location of an individuals mailbox on the Internet. You can send a message to anyone around the world if you know their e-mail address.

     An address consists of two parts, separated by the @ (at) symbol.

  • User Name: The name of the persons account. This can be a real name or a nickname.
  • Domain Name: The location of the person's account. Periods separate the various parts of the domain name.

    NOTE: An e-mail address cannot contain spaces.
     The last few characters in an e-mail address usually indicate the type of organizatiion and/or country the person belongs to. Examples include:
