How about those Patriots !
New England: According to news stations in our region, there are reports that a good majority of the population, outside of New England, dislikes the Patriots because they are a good team wanting to be a great team. Perhaps, the team's effort to strive for excellence is much too lofty for the "average NFL team" and their fans.If you would, let us compare the 2007 New England Patriots team to, the one and only, Tiger Woods of the Pro Golfers Association.
Tiger, even as a rookie, set a goal to be the very best golfer in golf history. Even though he had won several PGA events, including several majors, he wanted to be a better golfer. He changed his swing, he learned how to control shots better, he learned how to be creative with his shots, and he changed his caddie, which ultimately led to him managing the course better.
Having a love for the game of golf, I watch Tiger manage his way around the most difficult golf courses in the world and he never ceases to amaze me. The concentration level is way above his competitors. He has the ability and talent to win any tournament he plays in. If he is in the field, he has a chance of winning.
It should be obvious why I have compared the New England Patriots team to Tiger Woods. I do not know of anyone who loves any sport, whether it be football, golf or any other sport, who should not be in awe of the performance level displayed by the 2007 New England Patriots
Having been on the top 10% of the NFL since 1999, they have had some of the most difficult yearly schedules for a number of years. They have prevailed, because of their schedules year after year. There have been multiple players, coaches, assistant coaches that have moved on to other teams. They still perform at a high level, striving for excellance.
This year they have gone 18-0 in regular league play and in the playoffs. They are playing in the Super Bowl in Arizona, Sunday, February 3, 2008. They are in the game, they have a chance to win and be the best team in NFL history.
